So I just got done writing my poyms for AP Comp. Excuse the corniness of some of the lines, but I really wanted to get done with them as soon as possible. The first one I wrote in class with Christina Cheong. In order, they're on irony, rhetorical questions, and (mixed?) metaphors. I hope you like them to some extent, if at all.
Isn't it Ironic?
An Olympic swimmer drowns in his tub
A masseuse dies from getting a backrub.............[christina came up with that, NOT me]
A straight-A student fails P.E.
What a comic absurdity!
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's like dating a guy you didn't know was gay
It's like cleaning a toilet when you have to pee
What a peculiar irony!
What Kind of Idiot Uses Rhetorical Questions, Anyways?
Rhetorical questions are the devil
Why would you want to use them?
What kind of fool stoops down to that level?
They cause all kinds of problems!
Who came up with rhetorical questions?
When he made them was he drunk?
Was he seriously out of his mind at the time?
Oh wait, it was me! Who’d have thunk!...
Metaphors Mixed
He was a cloud that thundered in the night
With the fury of a thousand drunks
He was a tiger that stalked his prey
With the grace of a thousand monks
Within him was a fiery spirit
The coolest you ever knew
He was smart and quite Chinese to boot
His name was Gordon Koo!
As I said before, very corny. I'm like Mr Price's protegé. Heh heh heh.
