Last night, I rented The Good Girl. It was a pretty good movie minus seeing the naked guy named Bubba. Seriously, you'd think Rated R for sexuality, some language and drug use doesn't include male nudity. I'm okay with the occasional female nudity =P but male nudity is downright repulsive. Horrible. Anyway, the cover thing said it was a "quirky comedy," and to some extent it was. It had its funny moments. But the movie in its entirety was incredibly depressing. [somewhat reminiscent of Patch Adams, only with less comedy] The two main characters in the movie hated their lives and everything in it. Nonetheless, I still liked it. Of course, my father didn't because it was "screwed up" and it didn't live up to classics like High Noon and Ivanhoe, his all-time favorites. Oh well.
So you'd think that would be the highlight of my night last night. OBVIOUSLY not. I got to talk to my pseudo-cousin again, but, more importantly, I also got to talk to my cousin who I haven't gotten to talk to in like five billion years. Literally. Back when we were dinosaurs. Even stranger is the fact that I was on the phone for four hours, getting off only after my dad came out around 3 AM. It was a very enjoyable experience. We basically got to know each other again. [Sheena and I] We are, in a lot of ways, alike. She's pretty sarcastic. She took Physics sophomore year and is taking AP Physics junior year. We both don't like Harry Potter. We've both seen My Sassy Girl, and it's been the only "chick flick" [if you can call it that] that we've really liked. How cool! My pseudo-cousins are on their way back to New Jersey again today. After they came to stay in Fresno, they left to Oregon. So whatever. That was a pretty cool night. Too bad my dad is going to tell me about how I shouldn't have stayed up that late even if it was to get reacquainted with my long lost cousin. Though, I suppose we never lost her, now did we? Regardless, four hour long conversations are fun.
