Strictly speaking, the next paragraph is the most god-awful boring thing in the world if you don't think like a physicist!

I've been thinking about what Khara wrote about flying without wings, unrestricted. Mainly because of some problems with the rents. As I was eating dinner, I witnessed two ducks flapping their wings, flying into the air, and remembered Bernoulli's Principle. So this got me to thinking about flying without wings. This would require the superhuman ability to create an downward, unbalanced force to counterbalance the force of gravity, not to mention on other objects around the flyer in order to acquire some horizontal motion. I assume that must be part of Storm and Rogue's powers, since they are able to do so. I also noted that Neo's flying would have been majorly hindered by his long flowing clothing, but then realized that air resistance probably doesn't matter for a guy who can fly a million miles per hour. I also realized that, if you were to want to fly in an open area with no objects around, you would first need to get a running start first in order to acquire some initial horizontal velocity. Hmm. Sounds complicated. I think I'd settle for swinging from skyscrapers on strands of web that emerged from a canister [or wrists, if you go with the movie]. But flying would be so much cooler.
