Well, I bored again today. I really should finish Part 2 of East of Eden. I've been wondering--why come babies always seem to be photogenic? Have you ever seen a bad baby picture? Probably not. Even when they're not smiling, they're not making a weird face. What is it about nonbabies that make us so susceptible to bad pictures and Sean McGoey's sn? Could it be that we know how to talk and thus are caught sometimes in the middle of sentences? I doubt it. But whatever.

I like how sometimes when I'm sleeping I wake myself up by saying things. It's usually toward the end of my sleeping time since that's when I'm most likely to wake up anyway. I'll be dreaming, and in my dream I'll be saying something to someone in my dream, only I'll also say it out loud in the real world. Am I weird? I'm sure everyone else does it too. Then I'll open my eyes and be like, "What?? Why am I lying in my bed?" It's pretty amusing actually. It's a nice way to wake up. Of course, I never remember the things I say. I doubt any of it made sense.

Some people like the new car smell. Myself, I prefer the new book smell. Unfortunately, the new book smell has all but faded from my East of Eden. Occasionally, when reading it, I like to hold it close to my face and take a sniff to see if it's still there. I guess I'll have to wait until I read the Ox-Bow Incident or The Woman Warrior for the full effect once more.
