I'm currently watching Miss Teen USA 2003. This is preposterous! The evening gown thing just ended, and at the beginning of the segment, they had a disclaimer, disclaiming that the girls wouldn't be judged by what they wear, but their overall "presence." That's an outrage. How can you really change your overall presence by more than a marginal amount?! Aren't we all really present to the same amount as the girl next to us? [unless of course, that girl is a little despondent and what not]
