When I feel like there's no one that will ever know me, there you are to show me.
So yesterday I watched the series premiere of Average Joe since my parents recorded it. In case you're like Zesty, who watched no TV at all save Everwood, Average Joe is another one of those reality TV shows of the dating sort, where a bunch of ugly, there's a beautiful model and a bunch of ugly, nerdy guys battling for the affection of her heart. It didn't sound too bad to me at first, although my opinion later changed when I watched the first episode. They were all talking about how this is for all the nerds out there. "This is to show that the average guy can get the girl." ..... Um, yeah? Cuz she's a little bit FORCED to pick an average ugly, fat guy. If she had the option of dating a model, then of course she would pick the model over the fat, ugly ones. [which brings me to my next point] The second unrevealed "twist" of the show is pretty obvious, too. They're going to introduce some good-looking guys into the mansion and it's gonna be a battle of looks vs personality, superficial vs meaningful, good vs evil! [not respectively] And just to be televisiony, she'll choose the ugly guy over the model because "personality matters more." Then after the show ends she'll just dump the ugly guy and go for the model with chiseled abs and stunning features. I would hate to be her. It's a lose-lose situation.
I get anxiety a lot when I think about certain things. A lot of people I know went to see The Matrix: Revolutions yesterday. I, being the diligent student I am, remained home to work on my homework. Of course, I spent two hours in front of the television, but that's irrelevant. So now I have to guard myself against any outside opinions. [It was because of gratuitous outside opinions that The Matrix: Reloaded was ruined for me] I wanted to keep out even the most general of opinions--such as whether it was good or bad. However, I've already failed. Derek liked it. Sudeep liked it. At least that's better than having people say it was bad. I was very anxietized in Calc today. I'm just kidding Soutchay, you don't smell.
