All I have to say is: Fowler 3rd place? Come on, guys, even I'm ashamed [for you]. Clovis West Sci Oly rocked the CSUF North Gym and several accompanying buildings. I landed the usual 1st Place in Practical Data Gathering, and that's all I care to divulge. My associates Otani and Lam landed an exemplary 1st Place in Qual Analysis, and I applaud them as well. Enjoyable! A nice visit from Emily and Melissa, though Melissa didn't stay long. Thanks for partaking in some billiards with me, Em. I still think you're superb. After Sci Oly, I went home, ate more clam chowder, and watched Underworld. Enjoyable! I didn't like the end too much.

Mrs Winter showing up with water and cookies was very nice. It made me feel good, the feeling people get when they feel like they actually matter to other people in the school. Why do athletic activities get so much more attention than academic activities? I wondered this after Sci Oly and came up with the answer without too much effort, perhaps because it's obvious. Sports were created for entertainment. Their purpose is and always has been entertainment. People like sports and always have. Academics, on the other hand, have always been business, not pleasure. They are almost always unobservable [who wants to watch someone take a test?] and unexciting. Moreover, we associate academics with struggles. They're so much more unpleasant than a little game of hoops or ball. It's no wonder.

The night leaves me wanting more.
