I admit that my motivations for investing myself in Obama are no less superficial than the old lady who votes for the most attractive candidate. After eight years of such an awful president and the decline of America as the world's greatest nation, my faith in, well, a lot of things was shaken. A leader that the American people can believe in. A leader I can believe in. I saw that in Obama. He ran his campaign with dignity and seemed to do what he actually believed was right. If there is a chance for hope in this world, Obama is it.
Obviously, Obama isn't the only chance for hope in this world. He's just someone I could believe in. Hillary isn't all bad (she's no McCain) but I don't think she possesses the leadership qualities that Obama has. It's a shame she's a woman--not because women shouldn't be allowed to hold the office of POTUS, but because I imagine a lot of women are voting for her just for that fact. If you're truly believe in gender equality, then act like it! See past the whole "first woman president thing." To be fair, the same could be said about Obama and race. And I don't expect America to be smart about anything--I've learned that from 2004.
Well, this is just me being sad for my "hero." If, by some miracle, Obama gets California, then I'll be the happiest pap ever. Otherwise, goodbye to hope (for now)!
