Actions Speak Louder Than Other Actions

And both speak louder than words. Here's the deal. Yes, everyone enjoys a grand gesture. Grand gestures convey the message, "Hey, I went through a lot of effort." But friendships don't survive on grand gestures; if they did, then it'd be a lot harder to have friends. No, friendships are built and sustained on the little nothings that people exchange everyday. Actions speak louder than words.

We are the sum total of all our experiences. Every experience, no matter how small, contributes in shaping some small part of our personalities.

I enjoy debating trivial things. In high school, my friends Aaron and Stephanie shared this passion. While at Stanford, oddly enough, I've found few people with whome I can argue about meaningless things. Once I start anything resembling a heated discussion, the other party backs down. Either my debating skills are not to be underestimated, or my jovial attitude about the situation is mistaken as angry, or worse, malicious. Sad times.
