The switch to a Mac has been described in a number of ways. The most popular of which is the analogy of converting to a new religion. Well, today I bought my first Mac and got to experience this phenomenon first-hand. I have to say, I would liken it more to a new relationship more than anything else. It's new! Exciting! The world seems to be a better place now that I'm on a Mac. The sights are clearer. The sounds are sweeter. I just wonder if I will still feel this way after the excitement has worn off. Something tells me, "Gordon, you will still feel this way after the excitement has worn off. Maybe to a lesser degree. But you will." I hope something is right.
I'm still learning, but so far, I really like the multi-touch gestures, as they make navigation really easy and fun. The only problem I've come across so far is that there seems to be something weird going on with the dragging. I'll do the tap-tap-drag on the trackpad, and when I let go and then try to move my cursor somewhere else, sometimes I'll be surprised to find that I'm still dragging! It's something that needs a little figuring out. But overall, one word: veryawesome!
