I was very tempted to get a relatively cheap prime lens, recommended to me by a friend--specifically, the Canon 50mm f/1.8. I was considering it, but then I remembered how much money I had spent in the past month. No way, jose! But since my camera purchase, I've been keeping a Google Spreadsheet keeping track of all the "savings" I've accumulated by not buying things that I would have otherwise purchased if not for my camera-purchase guilt. The addition of this prime lens brings my total savings to $101. I have $679 to go! Go me!
