The two proud browsers who claim to be the fastest in the market have until now gone untested on my Windows partition. It's a travesty. I know. I recently started using Safari 4 on OS X, so I know that it's pretty blazing fast.
Today, I tried out Google Chrome, after finally* getting it to install. Its speed is pretty incredible. Wondering "how might this compare to Safari 4 Beta on Windows," I decided to install Safari. The installation was quick and painless, but when I opened up Safari to test its awesome speed, it came back with an error. I'm not sure what the deal is, all my other browsers (even the much loathed Internet Explorer!) can connect to the internet. So in the battle of speed, Chrome's 100mph beats Safari's "the engine won't start." Sorry, Apple. (but I enjoyed your installation process more, if it's any consolation)
* Chrome's install process consists of an executable that downloads the necessary files and then installs. Each time I had tried to install it before, it would always get hung up during the download phase. I assume this had to do with some server issue, because when I tried it again today, it was fine.
